Drawing with a Sewing Machine needle

IMG_5966I spent this last weekend on a course run by the amazingly talented Richard Box at Knutson Hall in the beautiful Northamptonshire countryside. The course was run over three days, including evening sessions, so I have come back absolutely exhausted. However, I had the most amazing time. The place and its staff were so welcoming, the food was wonderful (especially the light sponge puddings), Richard was so encouraging and knowledgeable, and the other people on the course were lovely. All in all I had a thoroughly enjoyable weekend.

The photograph above shows my efforts from the weekend, “Rory”, he is a cute little robin from the artist reference photo kindly shared by Karen M Berisford. I enjoyed working on him so much, I learnt loads throughout the weekend, and I had a good laugh in the process.

Rory was created using at least 15 different colours of thread sewn onto a piece of white cotton fabric. He will be on display during Bucks Open Studios in June.
